Ok....so this post is about Jeremy Schoemakers contest for the Vegas Affiliate Summit West and why I should win.

Ill be honest this is pure playing on your heartstrings. I have a daughter who was diagnosed with Leukemia in October and has been receiving chemotherapy since then. Her mother and I are divorced and so far my internet marketing for the last 3 years has been offline focused and I am struggling to build it while working other jobs.

I absolutely need to be able to get my income level up. Insurance doesnt cover everything. I need the ability to have the flexibility that affiliate marketing will allow me, to I can help my daughter.

My daughter was a straight A student and played 4 sports each year on the varsity level since she started in 9th grade. She was the homecoming queen, she is a beautiful young girl. She is no a human pin cushion. She constantly has needles stuck in her to inject something or draw blood. She spend her day in bed sleeping, she gets additional shots in the stomach twice a day. This once toned athelete has almost lost the ability to stand on her own.

I need to get to Affiliate West and get my life and income turned around so I can help my daughter thru this terrible ordeal.

My daughter is a competitor, always had been. Shes fighting this too and hitting all her benchmarks. As a parent, watching your child deteriorate like she has is almost the worst thing you can imagine. Watching them grown weak and thin. Barely strong enough some days to pick her cell up to reply to her friends get well texts. She will beat this, I just want to help her do it as much as I can.

Hi today I am at my moms and what I have here is her new toy, a Dulcimer. Now what the heck does my mom’s (Judy) dulcimer have to do with Internet marketing?
Well its how she got the dulcimer that’s important, she got the idea of wanting a dulcimer and the first thing she did was try to Google on locally with no luck. She mentioned it to me and I messaged some people about it. It turns out my girlfriend Kelly knows a guy that she contacted thru Facebook to find out about where to get a dulcimer locally, well turns out Shipshewana has dulcimers. So my mom Google’s to find them in Shipshewana. Now mom likes a bargain, so she looked on eBay and started bidding on eBay, she didn’t get the winning bid, but she has bought several items on eBay before. She follows craft groups and makes online purchases regularly or uses the internet to find places to buy what she needs. Pretty good for a lady in her seventies! Now she does ask for help with Face book every now and then, but she’s pretty internet savvy.
Now my Dad, Dave, volunteers at the Michigan City senior center where he teaches other seniors how to use the internet email, upload pictures and things like that. He also uses the internet for shopping, for fishing groups, pricing new cars, finding new restaurants and filling up my email with bad jokes. My parents gave up buying the actual newspaper; they now go online to read it.
The point is practically everyone is using the internet to some extent to shop, and if your business is not online properly and getting found, your losing money because people are desperately trying to find you on the internet.

I don't know a darn thing aboutu Circuit breaker lockouts. Ok not true...I know that when you want to be safe and are working in industrial setting that the maintenance guy puts them in so noone gets hurt.

I think there is an OSHA requirement for them....again I have no idea...I am seeing if this will rank in google. Not here to sell one or teach about one. The circuit breaker lockout could be floating in midair past me right now. Wouldn't know what to do about it.

But I believe that they have something to do with electrical panels, and engineers and such. here is some random stuff copied from another site

and it does not appear that any molded plastic pin of that size could have the strength necessary to comply with the OSHA requirements for "substantial" devices. For these reasons, the use of side handle holes for lockout purposes should be abandoned.

When the circuit breaker is the best isolating device, Circuit-Safe provides the most effective, efficient, and dependable circuit breaker lockout system available.

Meets the NFPA 70 NEC 2008 requirements for permanent lockout hardware
The Circuit-Safe rail assembly is designed with pre-spaced slots that correspond to the breaker handles. Slotted pins are held in the Circuit Safe rail assembly slots when the rail cover is closed and locked in place. As a result, circuits are isolated by mechanically preventing the movement of the breaker handle and an electrical lockout is in place. The steel rail assembly is installed on the panel with self-tapping screws. Pins are stored on the panel in a provided pin holder.

You need to be using email campaigns for your customers and potential customers. Are you able to capture emails from visitors to your site so you can contact them later? A good web designer would have told you about this.

Life Time Value of a customer lesson 2. Most people understand measuring profit by a product or service. We understand that a large pepperoni is more profitable than a medium cheese pizza.

Everyone thinks that marketing is about the products, we have been brainwashed to think that way. Profitability needs to be measured bu the customer! Which customers are most profitable? How do you calculate that?

1. Sort your customers by what they spend over a period of time.
2. Group your customers into buckets for the sake of time(ie all customers who spents under $40, those who spent $41-50, $51 and up and so on for 12 months.
3. For each group subtract all costs so that your left with the difference between that and the amount spent. This amount is the individual customer profitability.
4. Take overall revenue and divide by individual profitability to get a profit percent for each bucket.

So for example the Jones spent $10,000 on pizza last year. They order every week by calling in They never know what they want so it takes longer on the phone each call. They use a coupon and live on the outer edge of the delivery area.

Customer two, Mr Roberts is 22 and lives in the area and spends $3,000 on pizza last year. He responds to your email and orders online. He always gets a loaded meat pizza and picks it up at the store.

Who is the most valuable customer? I don't know, but you need to know for your business! When you know profitability by segment you can determine how much to invest in acquiring in each segment.

You need to think about how to market to the different audiences based on their margins. If Mr Roberts starts calling instead of ordering online or starts using delivery half the time your profits might slip.

IF you can drive better coupons to the Johnsons based on their profitability and get them to order online, or get one of their neighbors to order you can spread your delivery costs, and your profit structure might change.

Things you need to know whats the average order size of a first time customer? what is your defection rate? whats the real cost of servicing a first time customer?

If you are online you may be paying for advertising clicks that do not convert to a sale! The cost of those clicks would need to be added to the cost of a newly converted customer. Most people who visit your site do not do what you want them to!

If you are in the Michigan City area and have a website you need to talk to me. More than likely your site isn't bring you the customers you thought it would. We need to get you ranked in Google for terms that will help people find you.

You may be targeting customers all over but many of you have site to attract local customers. Your site is worthless to Joe Smith in California, but it may be just the thing for Joe Smith in Michigan City! We need to get your site to show up better for local searchs. We can do this with article marketing and by tweaking your current site to reflect the area you want your site to represent.

Write articles about your topic and include Michigan City or Indiana in the article. Then you need to submit those articles to article sites and have a link back to you website. This will boost your Google ranking for your topic in conjunction with your area.

My humble begginings

Ok background I used to run several internet stores as well as help my ex-wife run an web design firm. I even helped produce her radio show. Ok she is the brains and designer for the most part, but I learned tons to help with SEO, blogging, article writing and submission and the like. I understand how to use social media sites like Facebook and Myspace, and others.

The platform I am comfortable with is Yahoo stores, which I would highly recommend a yahoo store if you are going to actually sell items on the internet. If you have a site that is only going to be informational then maybe there are other formats for you.

I am offering my services for consultations on existing sites, and for how and why to set up a new site for a business. I plan on concentrating on Indiana businesses and Indiana Internet Marketing and Northern Indiana Internet Marketing. Local Search is something that business owners really need to concentrate on, and that's where I come in. So if you need to get some help with your site you know where I am.
