Hi today I am at my moms and what I have here is her new toy, a Dulcimer. Now what the heck does my mom’s (Judy) dulcimer have to do with Internet marketing?
Well its how she got the dulcimer that’s important, she got the idea of wanting a dulcimer and the first thing she did was try to Google on locally with no luck. She mentioned it to me and I messaged some people about it. It turns out my girlfriend Kelly knows a guy that she contacted thru Facebook to find out about where to get a dulcimer locally, well turns out Shipshewana has dulcimers. So my mom Google’s to find them in Shipshewana. Now mom likes a bargain, so she looked on eBay and started bidding on eBay, she didn’t get the winning bid, but she has bought several items on eBay before. She follows craft groups and makes online purchases regularly or uses the internet to find places to buy what she needs. Pretty good for a lady in her seventies! Now she does ask for help with Face book every now and then, but she’s pretty internet savvy.
Now my Dad, Dave, volunteers at the Michigan City senior center where he teaches other seniors how to use the internet email, upload pictures and things like that. He also uses the internet for shopping, for fishing groups, pricing new cars, finding new restaurants and filling up my email with bad jokes. My parents gave up buying the actual newspaper; they now go online to read it.
The point is practically everyone is using the internet to some extent to shop, and if your business is not online properly and getting found, your losing money because people are desperately trying to find you on the internet.
